Welcome to Coonalley

We are registered with The Cat Fanciers Association (CFA) and The International Cat Association. (TICA) Our goal is to produce large, typey, healthy kittens with wonderful dispositions. We believe a great personality is one of the best traits of the Maine Coon and we pay special attention to the socializing of our kittens.Our kittens are raised underfoot and enjoy plenty of attention from our four children. We are also commited to maintain the emotional and physical health of our breeding adults. Content adults produce happy, healthy kittens.
We actively show to promote the breed and to demonstrate conformance to the breed standard. Our cats come in an array of colors and their "look" ranges from moderate to extreme type and normally do well in both associations.
We generally produce 2-3 litters per year. Our kittens are available to suitable homes for pet or show. Our cattery is Felv. & Fiv. neg. and our kittens are vaccinated and examined by our veterinarian prior to going to their new homes. We do guarantee them to be healthy, active and affectionate! Occasionally we have retired breeding/show cats for adoption to the right homes.

Dorwill Raisin' Kane of Coonalley

Pictured above is Dorwill Raisin' Kane of Coonalley, one of our males. In the 1997-98 CFA show season, Kane was the 3rd Best Maine Coon Nationally. Also in CFA's North Atlantic Region, he was a Regional Winning 9th Best Cat, Best Maine Coon, and the highest scoring Maine Coon the region has ever had! During the 1996-97 TICA show season, in the Mid-Atlantic Region, Kane was a Regional Winning 17th Best Kitten, 16th Best Cat Allbreed and 10th Best Longhair Cat. It's unusual for a Maine Coon to be so competitive in both of these associations, and we obviously are very proud that Kane was able to do so well.

Coonalley's Pippy Longstocking

This is Coonalley's Pippy Longstocking, a brown classic tabby and white female. In the TICA 1995-96 show season, Pippy was 2nd Best Brown Classic Tabby with White Maine Coon Internationally. She also was Mid-Atlantic Region's Regional Winning 13th Best Cat Allbreed. In CFA the same show season, Pippy achieved the title of Grand Champion. She has the equivalent title in TICA of Supreme Grand Champion. It is difficult for the females to do well against the larger males, but Pippy was able to be very competitive in both associations!
